REALIZE THE DREAM - TREE SALE
SATURDAY MAY 1, 2010 - TIME: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
LOCATION: Blue Mountain Mall (Canadian Tire) parking lot.
Our
Club will be selling a variety of hardwood and softwood tree seedlings,
which will look great on virtually any property. Trees are bare root
and potted – 3 to 4 years old. Proceeds of the sale will be donated to
the Realize the Dream by 2015 Fund
We need your support to reach our objective so come out and purchase a tree or two. We will have lots on hand.

will carpool to kilometer 93.3 on the Side road 22C on the west side of
the Beaver Valley. We will then traverse the Fairmont Side Trail,
sections of the Bruce Trail and the Siegerman Side Trail to finish at
the start point. This is a very scenic hike, with hilly areas and some
steeper ascents. Bring water and a lunch.

Saturday May 8, 2010 - Time: 7:00 am (note early start)We
will carpool to the Lion’s Head area. The hike will commence at Km 70.5
on Cemetery Road from where we will follow the trail around Lion’s Head
to km 81.8 where there will be an optional drop out, otherwise we will
loop back to Cemetery road via the Ilse Hanel side trail. The trail has
difficult footing, hiking boots are required. Bring drinks and a lunch.

Wednesday, May 12, 2010 - Time: 9:00 amWe
will car-pool to km 33.2 of the Beaver Valley section. From the parking
lot we follow the main trail south and east past the summit of Metcalf
rock to km 23.7, where the hike will terminate. This hike offers some
exceptional views and a wide variety of natural features and terrain.
There are some fairly steep ascents and descents as we negotiate the
gulleys and valleys in the Kolapore river system. Bring water and a
lunch

will car pool to Swiss Meadows to commence our hike through the nice
B.T.C. property, then on the first 9.3 km of the Beaver Valley Main
Trail and the Loree Forest Side Trail, to # 21 S.R. where we left some
cars to take us back to Swiss Meadows. There are several steep ascents
and descents, but the views make the effort worthwhile. Bring lunch and
lots of water.

will carpool to km 47.9 on 5th side road in the Caledon Hills section.
The hike will include a recently opened 5.4 km beautiful new route
along the southern rim of the valley. About 5 km of road are replaced
by passing close to the Hockley Crest side trail and the Hemlock
ridges. The trail is very hilly with great views and the hike will
finish at km 60.5. Bring water and a lunch.

Saturday May 29, 2010 - ANNUAL END TO END HIKE - FIRST LEGMeeting
Place: We will meet at Highlands Nordic Centre. It is located
west of Duntroon on the 10th line, south of County Rd. 91, (a 3 minute
drive west from Duntroon on 91, then a 2 minute drive south on the 10th
line). Be at pickup point by 6:45am at latest.
Registration Fee: $25.00 will cover transportation, refreshments and badge.

(Hikers may drop out at checkpoints)
