will carpool to Hwy. 89 and Centre Rd. to start our hike at km 15.2. We
follow the main trail north through a series of steep climbs and
descents followed by a series of steps and switchbacks to the top of a
long and difficult hill. From there, the trail follows the valley rim
through another series of steep climbs to reach the parking area at km
27 where the hike will end. Bring water and a lunch.

will carpool to km 80.4 of the Beaver Valley Section to begin our hike.
We will follow the main trail north along the escarpment edge. The
trail passes through mature hardwood forest and open fields with some
spectacular views over the Beaver Valley. The hike will terminate at
Epping Lookout. Bring water and a lunch.

will carpool to the parking lot on 1st Line south of Rd 17 in the
Mulmur Hills area and start our hike at km 29.1. We will follow the
main trail north through a series of steep climbs to km 35.2 where we
leave the main trail and follow the Kilgorie Side Trail into Kilgorie,
where we end our hike. Bring water and a lunch.

Wednesday July 22, 2009 - Time: 8:00 am (Note early start)We carpool to Beautiful Joe Park in Meaford to hike the Trout Hollow Trail. It follows the east bank of the Bighead
River
upstream for 7 km to a Sideroad & returns along the west bank. We
walk through woodlands and meadows; past historical sites including the
remains of Trout Hollow where John Muir laid low during the U.S. Civil
War. Nice river scapes are often in view. It takes 5 hr. incl. a lunch
break. Bring water and a lunch.

will carpool to Lavender (km 0.0 of the Blue Mountains Section) and
walk through the Noisy River Provincial Nature Reserve. The hike will
terminate at km 8.5 on the 6/7 Nottawasaga Sideroad. Bring water and a
lunch.

Wednesday July 29, 2009 - Time: 9.00 a.m.We
will carpool to the parking area on the Gibraltar (6th) Sideroad. From
there we will hike south on the John Haigh Side Trail, past the highest
point on the Bruce Trail, and meet up with the Main Trail at km 50.0.
We will continue on the main trail, along the brow of the escarpment,
and rejoin the John Haigh Trail at Km. 55.5. From here a brief road
slog will bring us back to our starting point. The terrain is
relatively easy with some rocky sections and some spectacular views.
